The Comeback that Dani Alves Made Possible

Barcelona’s own Lionel Messi had a talk with one of his teammates, Dani Alves during a rigorous training session at the sports center FC Barcelona.

This comes after the highly valued Luis Suarez scored a lead and had two second half goals to enable Barcelona to achieve a 2 to 1 victory over Atletico Madrid. This comes at a needed time as they were in their first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals this past Tuesday. Fernando Torres started out as a hero but quickly went to a villain in the game as he scored an opening score in the 25th minute.

However Barcelona came back in a cruel fight to the death just three days right after the Real Madrid ended the Barcelona team’s record 39 streak match which was unbeaten until that point in time. They had a 2 to 1 win at Camp Nou which came as a devastating loss for the team. Luis Enrique wanted to make sure that they avenged the win and had a vicious comeback at the Atletico when there was the 2013-2014 quarterfinals going on for the club to get their 11 consecutive win home win.

They definitely had another chance to score another goal but they couldn’t quite manage it. This is what the fans have been using as fuel for the fire in the second match for Madrid. Fans are looking forward to it and have a certain expectation of what to expect especially after the performance versus Madrid. Whilst the match has been compared to the Grand National - where any one of the top 15 horses have a realistic chance of winning it according to the latest StanJames betting odds, the small 1 goal lead certainly puts Barca in the driving seat.

Atletico however seemed to be quite content to absorb Barcelona’s attacks until Antoine was able to get the first shot. The effort sure was off target but Torres sure didn’t waste time after that and just a minute later made sure that they scored a goal against Barcelona. Hopefully these comebacks can continue and the championship is still in sights.
